Delmer & Ann Michelle are hopeful adoptive parents from Iowa waiting to adopt a baby.

If you are pregnant and considering placing your child for adoption, please read the following Dear Birthmother Letter.

Welcome to Our Team Dear Birthparent,

Welcome to our page. We are very grateful that you are taking the time to get to know us. It is a great privilege to let you know about our family. First and foremost is our feeling about adoption. We are grateful for the opportunity to adopt again. We have the deepest respect for each of our sons’ birth parents and appreciate the blessings these children are in our lives. Our children have added new dimensions to our lives. We love the opportunity to celebrate their varied backgrounds. Our extended families also enjoy the addition of these precious children to our family tree.

Some important teachings we want our children to learn are: treat each other with respect, always do their best, and treat others with kindness. We also want to encourage them to obtain a good education, be proud of their heritage and make good choices. We have a combined goal to create lasting love and respect for their birth parents who love them and also to create continuing family memories that will bind us to each other.

Our hearts go out to all birth parents who have shown so much courage and wisdom in making very personal and challenging decisions. We hope the Lord's Spirit will guide you in finding that special family; one that you feel will be the right family for your child.
The Team Roster Delmer and Ann Michelle met on a blind date at Christmastime and fell in love soon after. Delmer remembers how well he could talk to her. Ann Michelle thought he was the most handsome man on the entire planet and even considered a second date. Six months later we were married and now have shared 14 years of experiences as a team.

Ann Michelle

Ann Michelle’s hobbies and interests include: being a full time mom to our two boys, reading, participating in a book club, scrap booking, cross stitch, playing the piano and flute, rubber stamping, painting ceramics, listening to country music, watching old TV programs, baking, collecting dolls and Boyd's bears, collecting recipes, and keeping in touch with friends. She loves just about everything that has to do with Christmas and our family traditions. She loves being at home and is the resident hug and band-aid dispenser.

Delmer

Delmer enjoys planning and doing things with family and friends. He is always on the go and enjoys having things to do. His hobbies and interests include: camping with our two boys, playing racquetball, exploring new things, reading and listening to books on tape, gardening, playing Lego’s with Jeremy and Kennan, cooking, and going on walks. He is our fun loving clown and resident frog and lightening bug catcher.

Jeremy

Jeremy was recruited first and he brought sleepless nights and endless wonder to our lives. Jeremy is a happy, imaginative 8-year-old who loves reading, science, and sports. He loves school and does well in all subjects. He has just completed second grade and is looking forward to his third grade experience. Jeremy is very involved in Cub Scouts and has earned his Wolf Badge. He is excited to enter the Bear Pack. He has a very caring personality and a sweet disposition.

Kennan

Jeremy was excited about the arrival of our next team member, Kennan. Kennan brought with him an active spirit and is seldom quiet. He is a beautiful 4-year-old biracial boy who is bright and quick to learn new things. He is very excited to start preschool in the fall. He loves music and doing projects with his hands such as building with Duplo blocks or helping his dad with home repairs. He loves to tease and play with members of our family as well as his friends. He is a very happy child with a heart winning smile.

Sammy the Cat

Sammy is our chubby, black, furry team mascot. Adopted through the humane society he joined our team in March of 2007. He also thinks he is the manager of our ball park.

Our Home and Neighborhood

Our home stadium is located in a great neighborhood. We have a fenced playground for our team which includes a garden, swing set, soccer kick board and a sandbox. The parking lot (i.e. the driveway) also doubles as a basketball court. The home team’s accommodations include four bedrooms, three baths and two recreation rooms. We are situated near the elementary school, a park, swimming pool, and our church.
The Game Schedule We value spending time together as a family. We often walk to a local park to play on the playground equipment. Another activity we enjoy is going swimming. Some evenings we watch movies and have a special treat. Most evenings we read stories together - with more than 2,000 books in the home, we always have a new favorite to read. We frequently invite friends over for dinner and games. Shrieks of laughter are often heard at these get-togethers as everyone gets involved in the games.

As with every great team, we have many traditions that pull our team together. Holidays provide excellent times for fun family traditions. Searching for Easter eggs, carving pumpkins and decorating sugar cookies for Halloween, putting up our Christmas tree the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, and receiving a book from mom at Christmas are just a few our cherished traditions. Other favorites include: New Years Day, when we have our friends over for games and a second turkey feast; the Fourth of July, where we watch local fireworks and have a picnic; and birthdays, where we always have presents and chocolate cake with homemade chocolate frosting. Younger team members and dad especially like all traditions dealing with treats. These and many other activities serve as anchors to our family and will help make any future team member feel welcomed and loved.

Away Games

Our away games are highly anticipated. The roster includes: visiting grandmas and grandpas and other family members, trips to the zoo, park visits with hikes in the “jungle,” visiting museums and historical sites, and swimming at the lake.

Home Games

Our home team’s schedule includes: eating dinners and talking together, reading books, doing jigsaw puzzles, watching movies while munching on buttered popcorn, taking walks, camp outs with dad in the backyard, and making and then enjoying warm batches of cookies. Season highlights include: group hugs, lunches with dad, family night activities, and bike rides.

Our team attends church every Sunday and loves participating in worship and various church activities.
Now Recruiting We still have lots of love to share and feel that our family is not yet complete. After much thought and prayer, we believe that adoption can bless our lives once again. We are very excited to have another child bless our family and await his/her arrival with great anticipation. We hope that this child will join our family very soon. If you feel we are the right family for your child, we would love to hear from you and begin getting to know you.
