Our History
About Us~

Our story began Thanksgiving Day 1996 in Houston Texas.; Amy was serving an LDS mission in an area where Fred's grandparents and uncle lived. Fred's grandma invited Amy and her missionary companion to have Thanksgiving dinner with her and her family. There were over 30 people there including Fred and his family. Those two hours they were at dinner was the only time we met, until 5 years later when we met again this time on LDS Singles web site. Each of our reasons for joining were different. Amy had a few friends that strongly persuaded her to join and upload her picture. Fred was ready to move on with his life, so he decided to give this form of dating a try. Neither of us was looking for a long distance relationship, but for some reason Fred clicked on Amy's profile. When it came up he recognized her but could not figure out from where. So he wrote her and after a few response they discovered how they had originally met. After many emails back and forth Fred decided to come out to Utah to meet Amy. We both hit it off and were amazed by how comfortable we felt with each other. We also found through meeting and emails how much we had in common. A month later Amy flew down to Texas to re-meet his family and it was at that time Fred proposed to her. Six months later we were married in the Mt. Timpanogoes Temple. It has been 6 years now and we are best of friends. We love being with each other and we support each other as we go through the trials in our lives. We feel like our love for each other continues to grow and we look forward to sharing that love with our children.

In May 2007 we were given the opportunity to be guardians to Fred's youngest brother Joseph. He came to live with us so he could finish his last year in high school at our local high school. It has been a neat and challenging experience being 'parents' to a teenage boy. We like to joke that who knew we would start our family with a teenager! We have enjoyed having him in our home and it has helped all of us grow together as a family.
About Fred - from Amy I love my ‘bear’ so much he was well worth the wait. He is such a wonderful man, he has such a loving heart he loves to serve and help anyone he can. He is the second oldest out of nine kids, ages ranging from 35 to 15, there are six girls and three boys. He is a family man and comes from a very gospel oriented family. When we are around his family it amazes me how strong of a loving bond his whole family has with each other.

Fred has a great way with kids of all ages. It is almost as if they are drawn to him. I love watching our friend’s toddlers and babies adore him and want to play with him. Fred and my nephew are great buddies, they both love Star Wars and they love to play video games with each other.

Fred also loves to go shooting with his friends (and me when he can talk me into it.) He loves to talk about classic cars and trucks with just about any one. One of his favorite TV shows is Home Improvement. (I think it is because Tim the tool man likes old cars too.) He loves the mountains and likes to go for drives to explore all them around us. He enjoys camping, Dutch oven cooking, 4x4ing, going to yard sells with me and going to classic car shows. He enjoys playing all types of games from Rook to Monopoly to just about any board or card game out there. He loves the computer and has several websites he has designed. He wants to continue learning about different computer programs. But most important I love the way he treats and respects me and I know without a doubt he is going to be a great father one day.
About Amy - From Fred I love Amy more than I ever thought could be possible, she is the most wonderful person I have ever met. Amy is the youngest of two, she has an older sister who lives nearby and has two children. Her sister had a third child who passed away as an infant. Amy is so wonderful with her niece and nephew; they are such an important part of her life. She has always been there for them and has always been the best aunt that she could be.

Amy is a very loving and kind hearted person; she is great with kids and loves helping all her friends with their children. Amy is fun to be with and is very outgoing. She is easy to get along with and is a person that will always be there when you need her.

Amy loves to scrapbook and she is very good at it. She loves to read LDS Romance and Suspense books and also the Twlight series. She also loves camping, go for scenic drives, she loves to travel and her favorite places, which she has been to are the Oregon Coast and Orcas Islands in Washington State. She enjoys playing games like Phase 10, SkipBo, Scatagories and Apples to Apples. She loves the outdoors and loves animals, especially our cats and dogs.

Us We enjoy spending time together and just being with each other. Every chance we get we go down to visit Fred’s grandpa and grandma in St. George. While we are there we have competitions playing Rook and Rummy Cube with them.

We like being outdoors especially in the mountains. We are fortunate to live in an area that is surrounded by mountains. Our favorite time is in the fall when we can go for drives up the canyons to look at the fall leaves. We also enjoy going camping with our dogs. We always have some sort of an adventure each trip. We also try to bring along Amy's niece and nephew. One of our favorite places to camp is in the mountains around Strawberry Reservoir; another favorite place is Yellowstone National Park. We love to cook with our Dutch ovens and try new recipes with our friends.

We both come from families that have a lot of traditions. Once we got married we tried to create some of our own. Christmas is our favorite holiday. One of our favorite traditions is to invite a lot of friends and family over for a Christmas party where we always play the ‘white elephant’ gift game. Another tradition, on Christmas Eve we get to lay out our stockings and we open one present before going to be bed. We look forward to sharing our family's traditions, along with our own traditions with our children. We also look forward to the possibility of sharing some of your favorite traditions as well.

We hope to be able to send pictures and emails to you so you can watch your baby grow. We would love to be able to meet you in person. There are so many possibilities that we can talk more about if we are the ones your choose.

We just want you to know that we will love and cherish your precious baby. We will always tell him or her how much you loved and cared for them. We look forward to becoming parents and welcoming a precious child into our home so that we can love and care for them and share with them the many things we have shared with you in this letter. Once again, thank you for taking the time to read about us and we hope that you have learned a little more about us as well. We do look forward to the day that we can meet you and get to know you. We know you are an amazing person already, because of the unselfish love you have for your baby.

Love,

Fred and Amy
